Federal and State Grants
As a fully accredited university, FPU offers access to a wide variety of federal and state programs that are an important source of financial aid for students. Grants do not have to be repaid.
Cal Grant
Up to $9,708 per year for California residents. Based on academic achievement and financial need. Must complete the FAFSA by the March 2 deadline.
Federal Pell Grant
Up to $5,350 per year. Based on financial need.
Federal SEOG Up to $1,500 per year. Based on financial need. Priority given to students eligible for the Federal Pell Grant.
Federal Academic
Up to $1,300 per year. Based on Federal Pell Competitiveness Grant Grant eligibility and successful completion of a rigorous high school program.
National SMART Grant
Up to $2,000 per year for college juniors or seniors majoring in specific math, science or foreign language areas. Based on Federal Pell Grant eligibility and 3.0 cumulative GPA in
major coursework.
Work Study Program
The work study program enables students to gain employment experience while earning a portion of their financial aid. Federal or institutional work study may be awarded. The Career Services Center and Personnel Office coordinate campus jobs, but the student is responsible for obtaining a position.
