Scholarly interests

• I maintain my interests in both biology and art. I read science publications to make sure I stay current in biology. I'm a docent at Fresno's Chaffee Zoo and have to maintain a certain level of competency in order to remain a docent. I am a practicing artist and take part in various shows and sales.

Professional and service experiences

• I currently work as an art specialist (and am an independent contractor) for Fresno Unified School District at Storey Elementary. Because of this, I can share "real world" experiences with my Art Fundamentals students. (Art Fundamentals is art for people who plan to become elementary school teachers.) I've taught all levels of elementary school art from kindergarten to sixth grade.
